Date
From: Wednesday November 18, 2015, 6:00 pm
To: Wednesday November 18, 2015, 8:00 pm
The Labor Science Network invites you to the Inaugural LSN Networking Drinks hosted by Daniel Mookhey MLC with special guest Jason Clare MP, Shadow Minister for Communications. Experts and scientists of all disciplines are invited to join NSW Labor MPs and policy-makers for a networking evening at NSW State Parliament. The event will provide an opportunity for experts and scientists to:
- connect with policy-makers and shadow Ministers regarding cutting-edge ideas in their fields;
- raise issues relevant to their research and sectors, including funding and strategic direction;
- discuss how to prioritise science within the community; and
- input their ideas into Labor's evidence-based policy agenda for NSW.
The evening will consist of short remarks by Daniel and Jason, followed by an opportunity for scientists and experts to discuss their research and policy imperatives with NSW Labor MPs and other policy-makers, including rank-and-file members over light refreshments. The LSN is very interested in connecting with the work of economists, in particular experts across economic sub-disciplines including:
- trade and industry economics, particularly focusing on NSW sectors of comparative advantage
- health economics
- financial economics and the economics of innovation
- labour market economics
- resource, renewable and energy economics
- sustainable cities and development economics
- the use of econometrics in public policy formation, design and implementation
- the use of behavioural economics and big data analytics in policy formation
LSN would very much like to have an economist corresponding to each portfolio policy area attend. Click here to RSVP to this invitation. For more information, contact: Elija Perrier · elija@laborsciencenetwork.com
