She’ll provide her perspectives on the improving budgetary position, the AOFMs funding task and the organisation’s move into the sustainable financing world while elaborating on AOFMs continued excellent market access despite ongoing market turbulence.

Anna Hughes was appointed CEO of the AOFM in January 2023. She has extensive domestic and international experience across both the private and public sectors with her most recent position being the Deputy Under Treasurer of the South Australian Department of Treasury and Finance. Anna was previously CEO of the South Australian Government Financing Authority (SAFA) which manages debt, liquidity and financial assets, and operates as the state’s captive insurer and fleet manager. SAFA also provides financial advice and administers hundreds of loans on behalf of the Treasurer.

Anna’s private sector experience includes twelve years with S&P Global Ratings as an analyst and APAC Managing Director. Her asset class experience includes governments, financing vehicles, multi-lateral institutions, government-related corporate entities and non-bank financial institutions.

An INSEAD Global Executive MBA graduate, Anna also has a Bachelors degree in Economics and Resource Economics and a Masters in Science.
