NSW Branch Seminar - Coastal Management: The Engineering, Economics and Policy
Coastal management is an increasing area of attention for economics, as we consider mitigation measures for sea level rise and increased storm intensity. This seminar looks at an application of economics to engineering solutions for a coastal erosion case study. The differences of practice under last year’s revision of the NSW Cost Benefit Guidelines will also be raised. Finally, the Ministerial level policy considerations in making decisions on such projects will be covered. The panel will then be open for extensive discussion of the professional issues in each field for coastal management.
