International Women’s Day Panel: Balance the Scales

The Women in Economics Network (‘WEN’) in collaboration with AMP invite you to a discussion and Q&A with three economics and business leaders:

  • Alexis George – CEO of AMP
  • Sarah Hunter – Assistant Governor (Economic), Reserve Bank of Australia
  • Phil O’Donaghue – Chief Economist, Deutsche Bank

The panellists will share reflections on their career paths and leadership experiences, explore what economic empowerment means in practice, and discuss the current state of play in the economy. The conversation will be moderated by Diana Mousina, Deputy Chief Economist at AMP.

The event will be held on Monday 9th of March at the AMP building in Sydney. There will be an opportunity to network (and nibble) following the panel discussion.

The event is for WEN and ESA members, with limited in-person spaces available so please register your attendance as soon as possible.

About the Speakers

 

Alexis George is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of AMP Limited. She has extensive leadership experience in banking and financial services, having previously held senior executive roles at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. George is recognised for her expertise in retail banking, wealth management, and organisational transformation.

 

 

Sarah Hunter is the Chief Economist and Assistant Governor (Economic) at the Reserve Bank of Australia, a position she has held since January 2024. In this role, she is responsible for the Bank's Economic Analysis and Economic Research departments and is the chief economic advisor to the Governor and the Board. She has previous experience as Head of Macroeconomic Conditions at the Commonwealth Treasury and in consulting roles with Oxford Economics and KPMG.

 

Phil O'Donaghoe is Chief Economist for Australia and New Zealand at Deutsche Bank. He provides macroeconomic analysis and forecasts on monetary policy, economic growth, inflation, and financial markets, advising institutional clients and informing investment strategy. O’Donaghoe is widely cited in media and policy discussions for his insights on the Australian economy and the outlook for interest rates and financial conditions.

 

Diana Mousina is the Deputy Chief Economist at AMP. Diana’s responsibilities include providing global economic and macro investment analysis to retail, institutional and internal customers through her regular ‘Econosights’ reports and presentations.
