With gender equality increasingly a business imperative\, in addition to being a human right\, many leaders across the sectors wonder how we can get there. Building on research conducted around the world and curated in Harvard’s searchable online platform\, the Gender Action Portal (GAP)\, the workshop focuses on what works to close gender gaps. It is based on insights from behavioural economics and helps you design your organisation for gender equality and excellence. How can hiring and promotion procedures be restructured to make sure you do not discriminate against talent that does not look the part? How can we create diverse teams that excel? How can we create inclusive work environments where men and women can thrive\, contribute and take on leadership roles? How can we empower leaders to treat men and women equally\, embrace diversity and lead more effectively? The workshop is designed to be highly interactive and for the participants to learn from each other. It includes exercises\, case studies\, small group problem solving and real world applications. Participants are encouraged to bring an issue they would like to fix in their organisations to the workshop. Who should attend The workshop is best suited to senior executives with decision making authority. Both women and men are invited to participate from a broad range of sectors including government and private sectors. About Professor Iris Bohnet Iris Bohnet is Professor of Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and the director of its Women and Public Policy Program. She is also the co-chair of the Behavioral Insights Group (BIG) at the Centre for Public Leadership at HKS\, an associate director of the Harvard Decision Science Laboratory\, and the faculty chair of the executive program “Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century” for the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders. From 2011 to 2014\, she served as the Kennedy School’s Academic Dean. Currently\, she serves on the boards of directors of Credit Suisse and University of Lucerne\, as well as the Advisory Board of the Vienna University of Economics and Business\, and numerous academic journals.
