Artificial intelligence and big data are so hot right now. How much of that is hype\, how much will it really change the world\, and how soon will we be ruled by robot overlords? This talk will give a broad overview of the state of play in machine learning and data science\, explaining how it's starting to change econometrics\, and showing how it might impact the economy as a whole.
About the Speaker
Jamie Hall is a data scientist and developer at Kaggle\, a machine learning startup. &nbsp\;He has a PhD in econometrics and masters degrees in philosophy and economics. &nbsp\;Prior to Kaggle\, he was part of the modelling team at the Reserve Bank of Australia.
