  • Excellent opportunity for an experienced Economist to join the Strategic Transport Planning  Team in PTV`s Network Product Development Division.
  • Salary Range $86,493 - $104,650  (plus superannuation)
  • Full Time Ongoing
  • Melbourne CBD - Docklands Location

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is the Victorian Government authority responsible for public transport in the state. Tasked with planning, coordinating and managing the Victorian public transport network, we provide a single point of contact for passengers, while acting as the face of the network and an advocate for public transport users.  

What you’ll do

The purpose of this position is to undertake appraisal of transport investments  including  demand analysis and provide strategic planning advice in Public Transport Victoria.

About you

As the preferred ideal candidate for this role you will have an appropriate tertiary qualification in Economics or a related discipline.  You will have a good understanding of transport economics and you will possess the ability to appraise the feasibility of potential investments. Broader economic experience will be beneficial.

With sound strategic planning skills you should also have strong capabilities in evaluating transport proposals, conceptualising complex issues and you should possess a high level of technical skills in transport demand, forecasting, modelling and economic and financial analysis.

With the ability to initiate, build and maintain effective relationships you will have strong communicational skills and have the ability to problem solve so as to deliver robust and viable solutions.
