Our Members

Our members are drawn from many and varied organisations across New South Wales, ranging from Government agencies, the banking sector, consulting firms, academia, student organisations and businesses.  Our members are our greatest asset, and through our website we will regularly share with you who some of our members are, why they joined the organisation and the work they do. We’re sure that you’ll be surprised by their varied backgrounds and places of work.

Jordi McKenzieJordi Mckenzie Lecturer, School of Economics, The University of Sydney

"I originally joined the society in order to receive the journals, and keep informed on interesting events such as the annual conference and distinguished lecture series.  Last year I also attended a number of the Emerging Economist lunches hosted by the Reserve Bank and enjoyed the opportunity to hear a number of prominent economists speak.  I can't imagine any other situation where I'd be chatting with Bob Hawke over lunch and a glass of wine!" Jordi Mckenzie is a lecturer in economics at the University of Sydney and has been a member of the Society since 2007.  From February 2013 Jordi will become a Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University.

Juliana WeingaertnerJuliana Weingaertner Analyst, Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of NSW (IPART)

“I found the events promoted by the Society to be an invaluable source of professional contacts  and information.  Through its series of seminars I was exposed to the latest trends and given the opportunity to engage in stimulating discussion on current economic topics.” Juliana has held advisory roles in both the public and private sectors focusing on electricity and  environmental markets. She recommends the Society to anyone interested in  expanding her network of contacts or keeping up-to-date with current economic issues.

Adrian Kemp Associate Director, NERA Economic Consulting

“I would recommend the Society and its events to anyone in the profession looking to develop their knowledge and skills.  Its Emerging Economist Seminar Series has offered  NERA's junior staff a great developmental and networking opportunity which can’t be found elsewhere” Adrian has over 12  years experience as an economist providing advice on the regulation of the transport, energy, and water industries. With a background in both government and consulting, Adrian has found the Society’s events to be a good opportunity to engage in current  economic debate  and  keep up-to-date with emerging issues as well as network with colleagues.
