Think Tanks
Think tanks conduct research on contemporary economic issues in Australia. Think tanks utilise the skills of economists to inform, and sometimes set the terms of, economic policy debates. The research of think tanks is usually self-published in discussion paper format, but will often be distilled in opinion-editorial pieces in newspapers and on other websites. Think tanks focus their research on certain aspects or sectors of the economy, sometimes viewed through the lens of an identified political philosophy (such as progressivism, liberalism, libertarianism, conservatism, and so on). In addition to conducting research, think tanks usually host lectures, seminars and forums for public interest. The NSW Council hope you will find the following links to be useful:
